Mechanism of Action
Timolol non-selectively blocks β1 and β2 adrenergic receptors in the ciliary epithelium, reducing aqueous humour production by approximately 20–30%. Unlike miotics, it has no effect on pupil size or accommodation, maintaining patients' quality of vision during therapy.
